The ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·ÎçÒ¹¸£ÀûÇ崿¶Á³ College Board of Trustees formed a discernment committee tasked with recommending whether the name of Palmer Hall should be changed. The formation of this committee was the next step in a continuing process focused on contested building names. This discernment process was educational in nature and guided by scholarly inquiry. Therefore, events were planned for the ¹ú²ú¾«Æ·ÎçÒ¹¸£ÀûÇ崿¶Á³ community to help raise awareness of the issues involved in the process. The board adopted a set of principles related to contested names in the spring of 2018; the Palmer Hall Discernment Committee met throughout the 2018-19 school year.
