Jawaun Crawford was born and raised in Memphis, TN. He began his musical career at Overton High School where he was a member of the marching band, jazz band, and wind ensemble. During his senior year he had the privilege and honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
During his tenure at University of Martin at TN, he was a member of multiple bands and was the winner of the school鈥檚 concerto competition. After leaving he later attended and graduated from the University of Memphis.
Crawford is well known in the Memphis music scene because of his lively and energetic personality when he performs. He was recently featured on the cover of the Memphis Magazine, which gets published monthly here in the city. He also has written and published an original song with Lucky 7 Brass Band, of which he has been a member of for 8 years. He also performs with bands such as Mighty Souls Brass band, Tropical Fusion Latin Band, and with Marcella Simien, just to name a few.
He has a deep passion for music and the art of playing trumpet. He loves sharing his musical abilities and knowledge of music with others.
